As a Canadian living in New York, I have taken the responsibility upon myself to assert my Canadian-ness every chance I get. Not only am I proud of my roots (pun intended), I also feel like American’s could benefit from learning a thing or two about their neighbours north of the border. I have, unfortunately, on more than one occasion had to explain that we have provinces and not states, and that Toronto is in fact not one of them. That being said, I make a concerted effort to assert my Canadianhood every chance I get- for myself, but also for the greater good.
Wearing denim on denim, is just my small, unobtrusive way to combat the idea that Canada is merely *America’s hat.* : /. It is a peaceful DENIMstration if you will? My Canadian tuxedo is not only comfortable, but also stylish because the 90’s are back, and Zach Morris remains the style icon he always was.
About the look:
These vintage denim shorts, are paired with a simple white crew-neck t, and a men’s Levi’s jacket. I would also wear this outfit, with a different colour denim jacket, in case anyone was wondering. I have this outfit on heavy rotation, but sometimes swap the shorts for cut-offs, or a mini skirt if the mood hits.
