It’s October, a month after Labor Day and still 22 degrees outside. I know I’m not supposed to wear white anymore, but it doesn’t really count if you pair it with a sweater or jacket right?
I keep hearing people say that they’re “ready” for fall, and I nod, “like ya for sure”, but inside I’m shaking my head “please stop, winter is around the corner, it may hear you.” Though I can appreciate the desire to wear fall clothing, I am certainly not complaining that it’s still +20. That being said, there is a very small window of opportunity where dresses can be worn with a sweater and without tights- this is that time people. I for one have been trying to squeeze out as many dress days as possible before covering my legs is no longer optional.
The ONLY problem with white dresses is that they are impractical if most of the occasions you have are friends weddings, wedding showers, engagement parties etc. I mean, for sure this dress totally looks like a wedding dress? Right? Wrong. But still for realz, I respect the rule and would never.
About the look:
I love a pleat. Any season. Though I probably wouldn’t wear this dress on it’s own (in the fall) I feel like it’s still okay paired with a chunky knit or light coat. Also- a suede booty makes it more transitional. I'll be honest, this dress is an oldie, but I tried to find some similar pieces online that I'd buy now if I didn't have it.
No white after Labour Day they said. Well, up their ziggy with a wawa brush.
