To those who are reading this (thank you mom)...sometimes you write a post and aren't sure where it's going- this was one of those. In other semi-related news, I think I may start posting my writing (not about fashion) on the blog in the 'musings' section, but I'm still contemplating it.
The Little Black Dress is iconic and a staple in many wardrobes. A timeless classic that never goes out of style; it's accessible, versatile, and has the capacity to be dressed up or down. I have one (or two)... but this is not it. This is my LRD (little red dress), except it’s really more like burgundy. It’s similar to the LBD because a) it’s a dress, b) it’s little, and c) it serves almost all the same purposes. It’s different than the LBD because it’s simply not black. Aside from the colour issue, this dress is a mainstay in my closet, and is surprisingly versatile. Heels kick it up a notch and sandals make it festival-ready. Dressed up or down this LRD is a go-to piece for me. Bottom line: black, burgundy, see-through, or mermaid, little dresses are pretty great.
About the look:
I got this dress a few years ago from this cool Australian brand “Don’t Ask Amanda” … it’s a line sold at one of my favourite Sydney stores: General Pants. I paired it with a pair of black booties because nothing says September weather is confusing, quite like a slip dress and boots.
