You may not be able to tell from the pictures above...but trends are sometimes hard for me to get behind. I don’t like buying into something that a) everyone else has and b) that may or may not be in style in 1-2 seasons. Even when I think something is cool and/or will look good, I still struggle to buy it when I think it’s just for the moment. The slip dress-trend was and is different.
Firstly, I already had a few in my closet and secondly, it’s a classic mini dress that has multi-seasonal wear-ability. If for some reason you did not purchase a slip in the past year, no problem, you probably already have one- it’s in your closet hanging inside one of your dresses- go check.
Anyways, I pretty much wore mine all summer, and I plan on having it on heavy rotation through the rest of fall and winter.
About the look:
As aforementioned, this was literally my summer uniform. I know what you’re thinking… ‘It’s basically winter, and you’re not wearing any pants.’ Fret not my friends. Throw on a pair of tights, booties, and a turtleneck underneath, and you have officially transitioned into fall. Alternatively, I think slip dresses look cool layered over a blouse and denim jeans. The opportunities are endless.
